Professor Moustapha Hamdi’s pioneering work has significantly advanced the field of reconstructive breast surgery. The opportunity to learn from Professor Hamdi and his multidisciplinary team is a privilege, and I look forward to further developing my reconstructive and microsurgical skills during the fellowship. It is therefore a great honour to have been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Brussels Breast Fellowship Grant.
As a plastic surgeon at the Department of Plastic and Breast Surgery, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark, I have throughout my training developed a strong passion for reconstructive breast surgery and microsurgery. I particularly find this field especially rewarding because it combines technical excellence with the opportunity to restore form and improve quality of life for women following breast cancer treatment.
I am sincerely grateful to Professor Moustapha Hamdi, the Hamdi Foundation, and the Fellowship Committee for this unique opportunity and for choosing me. I hope to bring the knowledge and experience gained during the fellowship back to Aarhus University Hospital, where I can contribute to the continued development of reconstructive breast surgery and microsurgery, ultimately improving outcomes for women undergoing breast reconstruction.
