The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UZ Brussel Belgium, in partnership with MMI, is proud to offer a 3-month clinical fellowship focusing on the revolutionary field of robotic lymphedema surgery.
This program provides advanced clinical training with the Symani® Surgical System, designed for surgeons aspiring to excel in robotic micro-and supermicrosurgery.

Program highlights
Under the mentorship of Prof. Hamdi, Prof. Alexandru Nistor, and their expert team, fellows will gain:
• Training certification for the Symani Surgical System
• Hands-on experience in robotic techniques for lymphedema treatment
• Exposure to advanced imaging and diagnostics for lymphedema
• Insight into integrating robotic surgery into multidisciplinary care,including preoperative planning and postoperative care
• Opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research aimed at improving surgical outcomes

Robotic Supermicrosurgery: Lymphedema Fellowship 2025
Program details
• Duration: 3 months (April, May, and June 2025)
• Location: University Hospital UZ Brussel, Belgium, a global LE&RN Center of Excellence
• Requirements: Completion of recognized plastic surgery training program, at least 1-year microsurgical experience, and commitment to developing a robotic lymphedema surgery program at your home institution
How to apply
Prepare the following documents:
• CV with a personal photo
• Letter of motivation
• Diploma of the most recent degree
• Proof of clinical microsurgical activity
• Two letters of recommendation
Funding
The fellowship includes:
• Housing and flights costs (up to 4000 Euro)
• Microsurgical training fees
• Scientific events participation cost
• Administrative fees and malpractice insurance
Awardee will be announced by February 15, 2025.
